Colchicum byzantinum ‘Innocence’

Despite its name ‘Innocence’ does not, at least initially, have the “wind driven snow” purity of color in its flowers that the other albino Colchicum we grow possesses. Upon opening, its white floral features are beautifully yet demurely blushed with pink. Eventually, all but the tips of the styles (the female flower parts) go icy pale. Like C. autumnale album, generous numbers of blooms are produced, yet those of ‘Innocence’ are considerably larger. This clone is absolutely gorgeous commingled with rosy colored varieties. Often still seen listed and sold as C. byzantinum album. Mid Sept.
