While the individual flowers of the Colchicum autumnale types may be smaller than most (2” wide), the numbers produced per corm make a clump just as showy as those of larger flowered ones. Most noticeable about ‘Nancy Lindsay’ is that the tube of the flower is the same purple as the petals–in most of the species and hybrids, the stems of their floral chalices are white or greenish white.
