Lovers of the genus affectionately call this white flowered form of Colchicum “dog bones”. The blooms are much smaller but more numerous than the holy grail of whites, C. speciosum album. C. autumnale album is a vigorous and floriferous plant, and perfect for the smaller garden. Somewhat late to bloom during Colchicum season, and definitely tardy to leaf out in the spring. Always a pleasant surprise when it suddenly appears in late Sept.
